Preseason Practices

We’ll be hosting preseason practices to prepare our wrestlers for the season. These will be open to wrestlers ages 6 and up. Practices will be run in a “clinic style” where we’ll cover as much technique as possible in each session. Each session will have a different focus to allow us to cover all common positions. Sessions will run from 6pm-8pm in the Oakdale High School Wrestling room. Dates: 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25

Volunteer Coaches
We are an organization that relies on volunteer coaches and parents contributing together to ensure a successful and fun filled season. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering, you may sign up during the registration process. All coaches are required to pass a background check. No experience required.

Practices
Practice will start in mid November, broken into squads based on level of experience, weight, and age.  Squads practice twice a week Monday thru Friday. Practices range from 75-120 min based on age. Practice times range from 5:30-8:45pm. Specific dates/times for practices will not be determined until registration has closed. Practices will be held at Oakdale High School and The Frederick County Fairgrounds.

Experienced Wrestlers – Varsity Squad
We have a high number of returning wrestlers. There will be a squad designated to our most experienced wrestlers that are transitioning into more advanced competition as well as middle schoolers preparing for high school. Our focus is not only training wrestlers physically, but instilling the mindset that is required to become an elite athlete. This squad will practice 3 times per week. The goal for these wrestlers is to qualify and compete in the MSWA State Championship Series. Our experienced squad will compete in more advanced tournaments throughout the season.

Online Parent Meeting
We will be holding an online parent meeting November 6 @ 6pm to welcome you and provide information about the season. An email will be sent after registration closes with the link. Be sure to check spam folders.

Spring Mat Club 2024

Register Here

Predators Wrestling will be offering a Spring Mat Club to help wrestlers improve and achieve their goals. Spring Mat Club will run from early April until mid June. Practices will be Mondays/Wednesday for 120 minutes. The program will be divided into two practice groups. Novice Elementary and Advanced Elementary, MS, HS. Ages 6-18 are welcome to register. There may be several competitions available to compete, however the goal for this club is to improve mat skills and level up your wrestling ability during the spring.

Novice Elementary – This group will focus on wrestling fundamentals in all folkstyle positions. Practices will include new instruction, drilling, and live wrestling. Technique will be focused on the most common positions in wrestling.

Advanced Elementary, MS, HS – This practice will be primarily focused on takedowns and hand fighting techniques. Achieving success at the higher levels of wrestling requires the ability to takedown your opponent. We’ll cover as many positions as possible including positions many teams don’t have time to practice during the regular winter season. All new technique will be repeatedly drilled to create muscle memory for those positions. Live wrestling and situations at every practice.
